Title: Two of Every Kind
Author: Nikoshinigami
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock, Mycroft
Warning: PG-13, AU, illness (Sherlock), character death (Molly)
Length: Novella
Status: Completed
A viral outbreak has caused the world to take doomsday precautions. While the best and brightest are locked away in the Ark, the rest of humanity has only death as a comfort to the pains of infection. John and Sherlock must either survive or die, but neither option is the easy way out.
AO3
A very angsty and apocalyptic story. I feared for Sherlock for some time. Great series though the last instalment is rushed and not as finely written.

Be Here Now
Title: Be Here Now
Author: Todesfuge
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock, Irene, Mycroft, OMC (James Moriarty)
Warning: NC-17, slash, illness (Sherlock), drug abuse (Sherlock), injury (Irene, John), PTSD (John), suicidal (John), amnesia (John), locked (John)
Length: Novel
Status: Ongoing
John Watson was already fighting demons when he and Sherlock met. With Sherlock's suicide, it all comes flooding back, forcing Sherlock to intervene before he's solved the persistent riddles of Jim Moriarty and his game. Together they find that something darker lurks behind Moriarty, forcing Sherlock, John, and Irene Adler into an even deadlier game with a much more dangerous foe.
AO3
Amazing series, for sure.
Todesfuge has got the ability to make the story seem really dense, no matter how long it takes for things to proceed. There are many facettes to this work that make it worthy to be read. There's revenge, love (mutual, unrequited, brotherly), anger, despair, a case of sorts, meeting old friends, saying goodbye to them, mental problems, health issues, recovery, ... and so on. Dense, as I said, but by no means overloaded.

Intimacies
Title: Intimacies
Author: pbjetpetita
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Sherlock/John , John/OMC, Sherlock/OMC
Warning: R, slash, violence (John)
Length: Medium
Status: Completed
In the first couple of weeks at 221B Baker Street, John decides how to go about being Sherlock Holmes's friend.
John is still working through what it means that he's become friends with the world's only consulting detective. And now he knows that joking about it is not always such a good idea.
In which John is left on his own to investigate a murder, Sherlock is mistakenly locked in a lab at Bart’s, and “friendship” and “love story” are shown not to be mutually exclusive categories.
After an unlucky encounter with a couple of homophobes in an alley, John spends some time reconsidering things. Sherlock remains, as per usual, hyperaware of important things (like the amount of mud on a shoe or the quality of any given toiletry product), and half-insensible to irrelevant things (like feelings).
Sherlock attempts to get over his infatuation with his new flatmate using the time-honored solutions of brooding, misdirection, and avoidance. And of course sex.
AO3
Ehm. There's lots of hugging.
I think this describes the story quite well...
I am serious ^^
Bonus: John in a gay club. John all proud that he did it with a guy. Yes. Incredibly adorable. Don't let Martin Freeman read that...

Don't Be Dead
Title: Don't Be Dead
Author: JayEz
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock, Lestrade
Warning: PG-13, injury(Lestrade)
Length: Medium
Status: Ongoing
After the Fall, John tries to deal. It takes him a while to figure out that Sherlock is still alive. Though once he is certain, he sets out to clear his best friend’s name and bring him back.
John and Sherlock are not talking about the Moment. So, when Lestrade asks Sherlock to help them find the Gravedigger, a kidnapper who buries his victims alive and leaves them to die if the ransom isn’t paid, the consulting detective is glad to have a distraction.
But then, Sherlock wakes up in a car several feet underground with an unconscious Lestrade in the backseat and approximately 12 hours of air left.
AO3
This is utterly brilliant - Sherlock's utterly brilliant. I liked the second part and have to admit that Johnlock was more of a side bonus.

The Only True Lords
Title: The Only True Lords
Author: Lomonaaeren
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Harry, Draco, Snape
Warning: PG-13, bond, post-hogwarts, locked, injury(Zabini)
Length: Novella
Status: Ongoing
"The Lords of Elfland are true lords, the only true lords, the kind that do not exist on this earth: their lordship is the outward sign or symbol of real inward greatness.” Ursula K. Le Guin. Harry ends up accidentally bonding himself as Lord to several Slytherins after the Battle of Hogwarts, including Snape and Draco Malfoy. It’s a long journey from putting his foot in it all the time to at least trying to be a good one.
At AO3
Exactly what you expect from Lomonaaeren - tension. I like the Slytherins' views, e.g. Zabini who is disgusted by the thought of servitude, Draco who likes to feel safe, Goyle who doesn't want to take responsibility for himself, Pansy who sees a chance to seize, and Snape who cares most about survival. Harry is a good mixture between politically verse and a hint dark. Yes, potentially one of her best work.

What the Body Betrays
Title: What the Body Betrays
Author: shenanygans
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock, Jim/Sherlock, OMC (baby Hamish)
Warning: NC-17, rape, het, genderbender, pregnancy, injury
Length: Medium
Status: Completed
Sherlock has been acting stranger than usual. She's been throwing up at crime scenes and leaving the flat at strange hours, not telling John where she's been going or why. John's worried and begins to wonder if their friendship will survive whatever Sherlock is hiding from him. And Sherlock knows that she won't be able to hide her secret for very long.....
At AO3
I liked Sherlock in here. She's just.... BAMF, and reckless, and yet caring, and intriguing... yeah.
It's not exactly the genderbender part that I loved about this, it's rather the her depiction. It sends just this lovely message: no matter which gender, Sherlock will always be... Sherlock.

None Other Series
Title: None Other Series
Author: Aspeninthesunlight
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Snape, Harry(/Luna), Draco(/OFC)
Warning: R, het, violence, injury (self-harm), murder, mention of het, mention of slash, adoption
Length: Novel

I:
A Year like None Other
It all started with a letter from home and family. Except, Harry doesn't really have either, does he? He's about to get them. A Snape-adopts-Harry story providing an alternate 6th year.
760 k words.
II:
A Summer like None Other
Family isn't everything, as Harry, Snape, and Draco discover in this sequel to A Year Like None Other. How will a mysterious mirror and a surprising new relationship affect a father and his two sons?
220 k words.
III:
A Family like None Other
During his final year at Hogwarts, relationships will splinter as Harry confronts secrets long-buried and faces the greatest challenge of them all.
380 k words.
I have to admit: I haven't read A Family like None Other yet. Not completely. Will do so soon, just haven't got the time. The series is an excellent read, though. It is rather logical, in character (and if it isn't, there's a good explanation for it). Aspeninthesunlight belongs to the greatest HP Fandom writers out there and even if one does not like Snape, Harry and Draco, one should know about this masterpiece.

Can't Take the Sky
Title: Can't Take the Sky
Author: Cluegirl
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Snape/Harry, Eileen
Warning: R, violence, slash, non-con, murder (Zabini, by Snape), injury, character death (sort of)
Length: Novella
Status: Completed
One thing Dumbledore never told Harry about horcruxes, is that they are harder to destroy than to create. When things to wrong, he must learn to rely on the last person he ever thought he'd trust.
At SH
A sad, angsty novella depicting war time Snarry. I cannot say what's more intriguing: the description of magic, the gruesome effects the curse has on Harry, or Snape's bleeding heart. No sap here, no.

Wild Nights, Wild Nights
Title: Wild Nights, Wild Nights
Author: cassyl
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock
Warning: R, mild slash, mention of suicide attempt, psychiatry
Length. Short
Status: Completed
If Sherlock had never met John, would he still be on the side of the angels? On his return from Afghanistan, John takes a job working the night shift at a high secure psychiatric hospital, but when the infamous criminal mastermind Sherlock Holmes is admitted as a patient, John begins to suspect that all is not as it seems.
At AO3
Usually people are interested in acquainting John and Sherlock when they're younger, children even. This story is the exact opposite: John and Sherlock meet after Reichenbach Fall. Under difficult circumstances, in a closed environment. Sherlock's already more closed off than in Canon, he never had John to rely on and care for. Still, it's so IC you have to like it.

Dumbledore locks Harry and Snape in the Room of Requirement. Harry's magic works, and Snape's doesn't. Will they kill each other?

This is not a Room of Requirements Sap Story in which Harry tells Snape that he had been abused by the Dursleys. No. Yes, there's child abuse, yes, they're locked into the Room of Requirements. But it is so much more than it's ingredients.
And do you know what's the most heart-breaking? When Snape realizes how much damage Dumbledore has caused on Harry's soul. Without spoiling too much - that happens after they leave the room.
