Amazing series, for sure.
Todesfuge has got the ability to make the story seem really dense, no matter how long it takes for things to proceed. There are many facettes to this work that make it worthy to be read. There's revenge, love (mutual, unrequited, brotherly), anger, despair, a case of sorts, meeting old friends, saying goodbye to them, mental problems, health issues, recovery, ... and so on. Dense, as I said, but by no means overloaded.

I read the other story. Nice but this one's better by far.
The usual Post-Reichenbach fanon. John grieves, finds Mary, loves Mary, Sherlock returns, Mary is discarded.
I liked that Mary told John "No". It shows some sort of backbone. I wish she'd have done it in canon, too. But meh, she's rather selfish, so no chance there.

I particularly like how both, Sherlock and John, are broken in their own regards and need each other to find some sort of closure. They do not wall in their misery, but it is definitely an issue. Haunting them. Well-done, grey853.

This is more about John's and Sherlock's relationship in the beginning than them actually getting together. While John has his issues, especially since Sherlock hurt him with the fake death, he always held feelings for his friend and knows that this is the second chance usually not granted. His therapy group is wonderfully depicted.

I don't know why I haven't read this before. I remember scrolling over it - and thinking that it sounded alright, but boring. But it isn't. This is a very intriguing story about loner John in the Canadian wilderness taking in Sherlock on Mycroft's request. The solitude and self-dependence needed to survive off major roads is depicted beautifully, and even if you don't like slash, this is worth a read: the scenery is fantastic. I haven't felt a setting coming to life this much for some time.
Sherlock's a bit OoC, but like I said - the scenery is overwhelming. I'd be out of character, too, if you threw me in there.
