Title: Into the Living Sea of Waking Dreams
Author: Hekate1308
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Mycroft, Sherlock, Jim, John, Lestrade
Warning: PG-13, murder (Mycroft - Jim), Parallel Universe
Length: Novella
Status: Completed
Choices could alter the course of our lives; Mycroft Holmes was about to learn this in a way no one ever had before.
FF
Main focus on Mycroft and Sherlock, as well as their relationship over the years. I already liked Hekate's other Parallel Universe AU, and this one's just as nice.

There Comes a Time
Title: There Comes a Time
Author: Subtlemagic
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock, Mycroft
Warning: PG-13, drug abuse (Sherlock), character death (Sherlock, John)
Length: Medium
Status: Completed
AO3
This is sad. So sad. I truly couldn't bring myself to re-read this for the rec. I am doing this out of memory. John's jumps are beautifully described. The plot is a mix of fast-forwards and stops. I like that, it's very modern, very interesting. We get to see John age, and we get to see Sherlock age through his eyes. I don't know what's more tragic. The knowledge Sherlock keeps to himself, or the burden John has to bear. Letting go of Sherlock when he still has got time.

“There comes a time when for every addition of knowledge you forget something that you knew before...” - Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Scarlett
John had thought his affliction an irritation, but nothing more, but finally when John’s ‘shifts’ through time start leading him deeper and deeper into the life of one Sherlock Holmes he realises that this could be the most beautiful, and the most painful, thing to have ever happened to him. As he grows old his travels force him to watch Sherlock becoming younger and younger, less and less complete. Everything leads towards the inevitable, heart-breaking conclusion that John must prepare himself for, whilst preparing Sherlock for the road that John has already travelled.
The one rule: They shan’t spoil the game.

Elective Affinities
Title: Elective Affinities
Author: Caecelia
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Snape/Harry, Lily
Warning: PG-13
Length: Novella
Status: Ongonig
It's 1976, and a strange new transfer student is about to turn Severus Snape's life on its head . . .
AO3
I looked at different sites and this is more than likely incomplete. I like it anyway, so here it goes.
Usually, I don't like it when people travel back in time, change their name completely and don't resemble their prior selfs a bit. Caecelia made it possible for me to imagine just this. The focus is quite a lot on Severus Snape. It's a small meta on his younger self.

Through The Looking Glass
Title: Through The Looking Glass
Author: ObsidianEmbrace
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Sherlock/John
Warning: R, dimension travel, character death (Sherlock - implied)
Length: Novel
Status: Completed
When you chase criminals over rooftops, death is always a possibility. We woke up in 1889 instead. Which is not a place two men in a relationship want to be
AO3
A difficult read. The multiple versions of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson make it impossible at times to read the action-filled scenes in a moderate pace. More than once I found myself hitting my forehead when I noticed that I was imagining the wrong guys, so to speak.
On the other head, I consider this an important piece of "literature" in the Sherlock Fandom. It combines multiple elements which are rarely found together. Homophobia, the ontake of different adaptions, the supernatural element combined with Sherlock Holmes' love of deduction based on logic.
Did I enjoy the read? No, not really.
Did I like the story? Yes, yes I did. A lot. Enough to rec this. it certainly contains a lot of creativity, a lot of effort, and last but not least, a lot of great ideas strung together.

Misdialed
Title: Misdialed
Author: DLanaDHZ, Lunaflare14
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John/Sherlock
Warning: PG-13, character death (Sherlock), mention of slash, AU, time travel
Length: Novella
Status: Completed
John needs a new phone, one that doesn’t bend time and have an amazing man on the other end who claims to be the world’s greatest detective, except that he can’t figure out how he called Dr. Watson instead of his brother. However, with a criminal mastermind on the loose, John's phone connection may be the only thing that can save them both.
At AO3
God, the biggest confession of my life: I love sap. Sappy stories, well-written sap. Sure, most of my rec'ed stories are slash and rather NC-17 than merely PG. Who doesn't like some smut? But I really am in awe of stories like Misdialed. They are so full of emotions without turning their characters unbelievable. It's art. Fictionality at its finest.
There's nothing more heart-warming than seeing Sherlock and John communicate.
I know the rough setting from a manga I once read, so this was not that much of a novel idea. Still, it's not easy to meet my expectations, and I had quite high one's because the manga was nice.

Their Verdict of Vagaries
Title: Their Verdict of Vagaries
Author: Angstier
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Voldemort/Harry, Dumbledore, Nott
Warning: R, mention of slash, violence, murder, character death, Horcrux, war, time travel, werewolf, prophecy
Length: Novel
Status: Ongoing
"All who fall under your gaze become accused of a silent crime… and I am yet to understand why." -Riddle. Gray!Harry lost in love and misery.
At FF
This is the biggest Voldemort/Harry story out there, almost 600 k words. It is dreadful, has no real slash elements (except mentions) and is full of gore, violence and cruelty. A must read for this pairing - and one of the most realistic depictions of this pairing. Tension, ugliness, complications.

World in Pieces
Title: World in Pieces
Author: Lomonaaeren
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Harry, Snape, Dumbledore
Warning: PG-13. war, parallel universe, mention of character death (past Harry)
Length: Novel
Status: Ongoing
Harry gets pulled into another universe to deal with the problem of Voldemort there. But that is not the worst thing that could happen.
At FF
Good old Lomonaaeren.
I'll get her other stories up here, too, when I start bringing my recs from my other blog.
For now, another novel-length story, for once without smut. Well, that's cool, her writing is brilliant even without the dirty details.
World in Pieces is especially nice as it combines two essential elements I like in HP fanfictions: Harry and Snape working together, and war-time. The universe travel is another bonus.

The Case of the Moebius Trap
Title: The Case of the Moebius Trap
Author: bitenomnom
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: John, Sherlock, John/Mary, Mycroft, Mommy Holmes
Warning: PG-13, drug abuse
Length: Novel
Status: Ongoing
When John finally gives in and accepts a case for the first time since Sherlock fell eight months ago, he finds himself in a unique position: in possession of what his client calls a time machine, and desperate enough to give it a go. If it works, he could travel back in time.
If it works, he could save Sherlock.
At AO3
Gen Story ( with squinting platonic love ). I quite liked John's travels, especially young Sherlock was really cute. I wish there was a GOOD fanfiction depicting him like that. Most of the kidfics I stumbled across were horrible.
Rather promising story here.
