Drug abuse, a parental Lestrade... what else needed for a great story? Lestrade's POV is done beautifully. The way he sees Sherlock is neither exaggerated nor out of character. He sees but does not observe. He recognizes but does not know how to handle. And Sherlock needs him, needs the company. A young Sherlock in a self-conscious way, but so not conscious of his environment.
