A Sense of Dullness

You know what's most depressing?
Realizing the person you have fancied for some weeks is actually quite dull.
Not meant in an unfriendly way but utterly, completely dull.
I had anticipated talking to this person for some time. We chatted, wrote texts and I got to know more about that person. At first, it seemed interesting, a lot of stories about that person's stay in the Netherlands, about friends and their lives. It lasted for about two weeks, I think. Then the stories repeated themselves. And when the shallow topics became deeper, the realization that this person barely knew anything more than general knowledge was inevitable.
Now I feel drained.
