OTP

Long time since I did anything but rec. Just couldn't resist.
I found a new OTP of mine. While I can see many pairings throughout my usual fandoms, het, slash, even multi, there is usually one pairing that seems to be head canon for me.

In Harry Potter, I prefer tension. Snarry.
In Sherlock, I prefer contrast. Sherlock's fragile brilliance vs John's steadiness.

And in Doctor Who, I prefer sweetness. Rose/Tenth. I actually never would have thought I'd go for "Rose". I like het but seriously, she's not the type woman I would root for. Not the usual heroine I support. And that's why I think her casting and entire character is brilliant. You see her at the beginning, plain, boring, kind of the picture of un-interesting. Then you see her with the doctor, and suddenly she's everything but plain. It's likewise with the doctor (9th + 10th). The moment Rose was really at his side, he became more interesting. They complete each other. I love characters which make you admit that you judged them based on first impression. And that this impression was utterly wrong. I quickly learned to respect Rose - to me, the series ends with her last appearance in fourth season. Her story's complete, and so I stopped watching. Not because I didn't like the other companions. They were okay, no bad word to be said about them. It's just that Doctor Who has become so much about Tenth and Rose even when Rose wasn't there anymore that I am satisfied with that end. Well, no, not satisfied. But it's the end of Rose's arc. And I do not need to know more about the doctor. To me, he's the man who fell in love with a human, opened up to that human, and when there was no chance to remain together, let her go. Suffered through loss. Met her again. And while it must have pained him, he put another man at her side - because he'd rather have her be with somebody and happy than pining. He prefers to be the only one pining. Yep.
So, I got hooked. You may expect Doctor Who recs from now on, too.
