John sees the other two guys crack their knuckles. He knows what happens next, and maybe later Sherlock will be together enough to stagger home alone, if he's lucky."
John's on crutches and off the rugby team. Loner Sherlock is friendless and self-destructive. When John saves Sherlock from getting beaten up, it's the start of a long—and complicated—relationship.

Not as dramatic as it could be but depicts their friendship quite nicely. There's no real slash, just kissing - and actually in this story their friendship is more important than them having a go at each other. Mostly gen, and a good read. I usually despise stories showing them in high school. This one was good. Not brilliant but good.
